History

At the beginning of the company´s history, Bernd Schwegmann has dealt with everything the paint industry needs, from titanium dioxide to various machines required for lacquer production. Soon, however, he concentrated on varnish additives, filtration technology and operational consulting. In his search for an alternative to the filters made of metal wire, he became aware of a plastic fabric that was actually intended for screen printing. The fabric had a similar mesh strength as metal wire mesh, but was more cost-effective and much easier to fabricate. So it came that Ursula Schwegmann, the wife of the company's founder, sewed the first filter bags on her sewing machine in the living room. The first customer was a paint factory in Limburg. The advantages for the customer: The sieve bags were flexibly adapted in shape and size to the wishes of the customer. In addition, the bags could be changed easily and quickly - the elaborate cleaning of the metal screen was omitted, the filter bags were simply disposed of after use. Depending on the area of application, the robust sieve bags were also washed and used several times. Over the years, other industries have been acquired, for example by exhibiting at the Achema in Frankfurt.
