Many different factors as content of solids, kind of particles or operation conditions (pressure, temperature etc.) have an impact on the filtration result of a filter medium. In most cases, different types of filtration take place at the same time, for example depth filtration through a filter cake which has been built up during a surface filtration with a monofilament textile.
