String wound filter cartridges FKW are depth-filtration cartridges made from polypropylene and other materials. They are used for keeping water circuits, plates and film-processing equipment clean. Winding a thread around the cartridge core creates a graded pore structure that works to thoroughly filter particles, as larger particles are trapped in the outer layers and smaller ones in the inner layers. Wound-string filter cartridges also allow for high flow rates at low differential pressures.
We offer filter media and cartridge cores in different materials that can be freely combined as well as custom-tailored filter cartridges in the size (length and circumference) you need. Additionally, we can provide adapters that ensure compatibility with all commonly available filter housings.
For which applications are wound-string filter cartridges FKW useful?
Wound-string filter cartridges FKW are particularly suited for standard filtration in water treatment and electroplating with a water temperature of up to 93 °C. In general, the wound string and the polyproplyene core reliably filter acidic, alkaline and watery solutions as well as many organic media. Wound-string filter cartridges FKW offer excellent filtration with little loss of pressure, which is why they are commonly used in power plants.
