Depth filter sheets
The innovation in filtration technology
Our depth filter sheets are a three-dimensional depth filter made of adsorbents with an impressively large internal surface area. Imagine the adsorbents as a complex network of chambers and channels of different lengths in which contaminants are efficiently trapped.
In contrast to conventional screen filtration, the entire filtration surface is considerably larger with the depth filter layer, which significantly increases the quantity of filtered solution.
Filtration mechanism: Triple safety for your processes
Three different types of filtration work together in the filtration process through the depth filter layer. These mechanisms work together to ensure an outstanding result:
- Mechanical filtration
Foreign bodies and particles that are larger than the pores of the filter layer remain mechanically on the surface of the layer and are effectively retained. - Electrostatic adsorption
This is a weak molecular interaction, known as Van der Waals forces, which occur between the particles in the solution and the material of the filter layer. This also traps smaller particles inside the layer, in the chambers and channels. - Elektrokinetische Adsorption
